Our first Bollywood dance lesson was very exciting and entertaining.
First I was very nervous as i had never done any kind of indian dancing before and i didn't feel comfortable dancing in front of the whole class.
We had a year 12 student come in and try to teach us some easy basic bollywood dance steps to Indian music for half the lesson. Then Miss Hasinstock started doing warm ups with us, making ups steps on the spot to the indian song Jai Ho. We found a dance tutorial from youtube of this song which helped us start our real dance routine.
Although i found it hard to keep up with the lady but after a couple of times running through the steps it was more fun than hard.
I enjoyed watching the boys trying to dance.
I think out of the teachers and youtube tutorial i found the tutorial was fun but quite hard as it used actual bollywood steps whereas the warm ups were quite basic.
This was very exciting because by this time, everyone was comfortable around each other and wasnt shy with each other. The best part of the lesson was when the other media teachers came to watch us and then they actually joined in and learnt the tutorial. It was jokes watching all the teachers doing bollywood especially Miss Harris.
